ABOUT ELIA
Elia is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer, as well as a writer and the author of two dark-humor cartoon books Evil Penguins: When Cute Penguins Go Bad
and Evil Cats: When Fluffy Cats Get Mean. She is currently writing about an orb-weaving spider that lived on her terrace and the birds visiting her bird bath. Her essays and poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Tusculum Review, Fjords Review, Peatsmoke Journal, Unbroken Journal,
and elsewhere. She's also a nonfiction editor for The Hopper and has been nominated twice for Best of the Net.
After studying physics and theatre in the US and pursuing stage acting, she moved to Australia. She is a former wildlife rescue volunteer.
